PULLED OVER

Yep, for the first time in 17 years I got pulled over. (I cannot be that old!). The last time I got pulled over I was 16 and a half and got a ticket for going 82 in a 66. That officer was nice enough to write me up for only 10 over. Well, on my way home yesterday from piano I had brought my van which holds 7 and I was picking up Trayten (Cherrie's boy) at the school so with my six kids and myself and him we were 8. I was going a little over the speed limit but not enough to get pulled over for it, so when I saw the highway patrol turn around right after I passed him I knew it had to be because I had Sadie and Dakota in the front seat in a seat belt together. I told Kodi to hurry and get in the back in a seat belt with Taylyr which she did. Sure enough he came up behind me with his lights on. When he walked up I asked him if I was speeding and he told me a little but he pulled me over because he saw one of my kids standing up in the middle of the front. Kodi I think was a little nervous and said "I wasn't standing up I was in a seat belt with my sister and my mom told me to hurry and get in the back in a seat belt with my other sister, so I did". He asked me how many kids I had in the vehicle and then looked. I told him I had picked up my sisters boy in Tropic and so I was 1 seat belt short and that is why they were sharing one. He told me he was going to write me up for a seat belt violation when he pulled me over but now that he understood the situation he wasn't going to. BUT... I didn't have my drivers license so he had to go run my name over the scanner and check everything out. Oh well, I didn't get a ticket for anything so I should be very thankful. He told me that if I had to double up like that again it would be better in the back seat than the front and I was on my way. If I had remembered that I was picking up Trayten beforehand and brought my suburban the whole situation could have been avoided. By the way the Highway Patrolman was not bad looking. Not at all. And no for those of you who just asked THE question. I did not flirt or bare anything to get out of the ticket!

TREAT YOUR SERVERS WITH RESPECT! OR ELSE

Okay, so some of you have heard this story cause I have a big mouth and have told everyone already but for those of you who haven't ENJOY!
The other day at work I got my first table and it was a lady who was probably around 70 years old and her mother who she said was 93. When I first walked out to the table the 70 year old (she was the only one who talked) told me "I am very hard on waitresses. I like things my way and your tip is based on whether you make sure I get it that way". Well I'm actually proud of myself for not killing her on the spot but I managed to get through taking her order. When I brought out her salad she said "That's what I'm talking about, you remembered I didn't want any cucumbers so your tip is just fine". Well by this point I was waiting for the top of my head to pop off because I think I really did have steam coming out my ears. You always think of what to say later and not at the moment and if I had been a little quicker I would have just told her from the very start "I will need to get my manager so he can find you a waitress that is not human, because I am human and I make mistakes and I'd rather not waste my time!" So anyway I made it through and it wasn't easy.
The next day I went to the car care to find Mike and couldn't find him. I went inside to use the phone to call his cell phone and low and behold who is at the counter but Miss Witchy herself. Well I managed to just tell Martin the cashier that she was an _ _ _ HOLE and good luck and walked out. Of course she did not hear me but I'm pretty sure she recognized me. The next morning Mike went to work and called me at 8:30 a.m. and woke me up and told me I really wanted to hear this. So he said Miss Witchy broke down the day before and they had to tow her into the car care. Her car had overheated. Scott had helped her and fixed her car. She called that morning from Torrey and talked to Mike and said her car had overheated again and she was broke down. Mike told me he knew who she was (from the restaurant. He worked that night also in the restaurant and saw her), He said he was very nice to her and trying to help her despite knowing what he knew about her. Then she made the mistake of saying "you are very rude and I would like to talk to Bryce". Well my very patient loving husband had had it and, well, I guess his head just blew off like mine was going to and he said "I'm rude, your telling me that I'm rude? You remember that little (mike said little he he) gal that waited on you in the restaurant last night? She was my wife! You want to talk about rude, that was rude! You can take your son of a _ _ _ _ _ _ _ car somewhere else". Then he hung up. I believe he said she never called back. Well needless to say I laughed and of course he made my whole week, heck, he made my whole year! There are a lot of people that treat waitresses like they are nothing and you just have to blow it off or you just can't do the job. I don't mind waitressing and I believe only certain people can handle it. You just never get satisfaction like that when things like that happen and this time it came full circle. YES!
Well, if you watched Oprah the other day, she had a show on rude people and it was mostly about how people treat servers. Two quotes from Oprah and No they are not exact "You can tell a lot about a person by how they treat service people" and talking about someone who is always causing problems in restaurants and always requesting a manager, oh and then actually has the gall to go back to that establishment, "They know who you are, they can spot you a mile away and I would hate to think of what they have done to your food! Thank You OPRAH

Fun Tag: Jenny tagged everyone

1. What is my husbands name: Mike
2. How long have we been married: 12 years and 1 month (WOW!)
3. How long did we date before we got married: 11 months
4. How old is he: Three days older than me!
5. Who eats more sweets: Me, Me, Me. He hardly ever eats sweets unless it is "pralines and cream sundae" ice cream. He always says I will honestly make something for dessert before I will make dinner and he is right!
6. Who said I love you first: I did. And in case your wondering he did not say it back. I almost died, talk about uncomfortable. About a month later he told me the same thing. He told me then that he couldn't say it back when I did because he had to be completely sure first! Thats Mike!
7. Who is taller: Him by far. I'm 5'5" and he is 6'3". He told me he was never interested in tall girls. I'm not sure that is true. I think he just said it to make me feel good!
8. Who is a better singer: Me definitely, I can sing a pretty mean "Stand By Your Man" (watch out Tammy Wynette.) BUT......when Mike gets out his guitar and plays what he calls "fresh rock" whoa, he is better. Love that fresh rock!
9. Who is smarter: Mike definitely. Although I would never admit this to his face:). He is definitely smarter. He can fix and figure out anything.
10. Who does laundry: Me, every Tuesday, I hate Tuesday's! Mike has done it a few times to help me out and he really is not that bad. He will help me fold it at night when I am doing it and he is home from work. Funny story: He did it not very long ago because I was sick and told me that we just all had to cut back on the clothes we wear and wear each thing twice. Not easy is it honey. Lucky I do it and not him!
11. Who pays bills: Me. Although he makes most of the money.
12. Who sleeps on right side of bed: I do facing it, he does laying in it
13. Who mows lawn: I do unless he just has some free time which he never does. He works hard and plays hard. I actually love to mow the lawn. You have to understand though, at this elevation grass doesn't grow oh so fast. This summer I think we mowed it three times, maybe four. It was a real cool spring and has been a real cool fall. Although, he does weed wack it. I hate to do that.
14. Who cooks dinner: I would have to say me most of the time, but Mike really enjoys it too and since we Bar B Q a lot he does a lot of it. (Thanks to the WONDERFUL grill I got him for Father's Day).
15. Who drives: Mike. I like to sleep and he always says he doesn't trust my driving. I admit I am no good with any kind of moisture on the ground (yes rain also) but I am fine other than that. (Mike when you read this you better not leave any comments about this) :) Yes he was the one who voted "no" a few times on my anniversary poll about if anyone thought we would last this long just to drive me crazy for a few days before he came clean.
16. Who is the first to say "Sorry or their wrong": Mike, Mike, Mike. Awful isn't it. But I can definitely say it was the best thing for me because I have learned from him and am still learning to let things go. I am one who holds a grudge for a while. Mike doesn't hold one for a second and I mean not even a second. He doesn't get upset EVER! He is the most wonderful husband. I even had someone at work ask me the other day if Mike ever gets mad or has a bad day because if he does he doesn't show it. He honestly doesn't. I wish to be more like him.
17. Who kissed who first: Funny story. My roommate and I went to meet the people in our apartment building (wasn't very many) and I saw Mike for the first time. I saw his eyes and that was it for me. I told my roommate Laycee that I was going to get a date with him. All my roommates bet me I couldn't and then changed it to I couldn't get him to kiss me by February (it was October)...they didn't know me very well. I asked him out and it was the most uncomfortable date ever. Even my roommates got a laugh out of how far away he sat on the couch from me during the movie we all watched. Well, I thought that was the last I would ever see of him until a week later when I was sitting on the floor of our apartment with my back to the door and someone knocked. My roommate answered it and I wasn't paying much attention until I heard him ask for me. I knew in a second who it was. Well, lets just say I won the bet by a LONG SHOT!!!HAHAHAHAHAHAHA AND I'M STILL LAUGHING. (We both went for the kiss together after watching a very long Forest Gump!
18. Who asked who out first: refer above
19. Who wears pants: Probably me, but Mike definitely gets a say in everything. That is one of the things he has mellowed me on. We are a team more now than ever. By the way My dad once told me of a couple who got married and the husband took his pants to her and told him to put them on, so she did. They were too big and didn't fit. He told her to remember that because he wore the pants in the family. She brought her nice little panties to him and told him to put them on. Obliviously he couldn't. She told him that as long as he felt that way he would never get into hers. LOVED IT!
I TAG Stephanie, Hayley, Josalyn for the second time, and Trish.

Pacific Time

This morning my kids and I got up at our usual 6:00 a.m. and got ready for school. The kids were at the table eating their eggs and toast and I was just fixing Mike some eggs when Kodi said "Mom, did you know it's after 7:00". I said "No it isn't" and glanced at the clock. I almost died. It was Quarter to eight and school starts at 8. The bus comes at 7:10 so we really missed that one. It was also our turn to drive for preschool so I hurried the kids in the car, had them take their toast with them and Mike wolfed down his eggs as fast as he could and they all left. One of the kids must have been messing with my clock in my room because when I checked it, it had been set to Pacific Time. There is a button on the back that you can hit and it will change to any of the four time zones, easter, central, mountain or pacific. I had to call the school to make sure they kept Sadie's aid there and didn't have her go home. The principal answered and I explained what happened. He is also the one who drives our bus. He told me (jokingly) "You can't change your clocks back for another few weeks". I guess we were just getting some extra practice!

Asleep in the toy box

Last night before dinner we were trying to find Ashtyn and couldn't find him. We had looked, we thought, everywhere and he just wasn't around. I even asked Hayley if he was at her house. I knew he had to be close because I had just bathed all the kids and put them in their jammies. Well I took another sweep of the house and found him sound asleep in the toy box. I had asked him to pick up the toys just before I started dinner. I guess he was just too tired to do it! He is so cute.

FUDGE: BEFORE AND AFTER

Below is the fudge we made Tuesday night and the picture above is that same fudge half gone about 15 minutes later. My kids and I can go through a batch of fudge in less than 24 hours. WE LOVE FUDGE!

Even the baby is learning early how wonderful FUDGE is!
WE ALL LOVE FUDGE!!!! We will probably make another batch tonight. Especially since Taylyr and Kodi can churn it now!
